SUV Driver Trapped In Lothian Crash: Officials

A driver was trapped in his SUV after it crashed into a tree in Lothian, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

LOTHIAN, MD — A driver was trapped in his SUV after it crashed into a tree in Lothian just after noon on Feb. 9, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The one-vehicle accident happened on northbound Route 4 near Talbot Road.

The 67-year-old driver's vehicle left the road and struck a tree. He was taken by Maryland State Police helicopter to the trauma center at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center with injuries that were serious, but not believed life-threatening.

Crews from the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department assisted in the rescue.

Firefighters extricated the driver in about 15 minutes. A Maryland State Police helicopter landed at The Show Place Arena and flew the patient to the hospital.
