SUV Plows Into Riviera Beach House, 1 Injured
A Pasadena driver was seriously injured when his SUV smashed into a Riviera Beach house, according to Anne Arundel County officials.

RIVIERA BEACH — One person was seriously injured when an SUV drove into a Riviera Beach house, according to Anne Arundel County Fire officials. The accident happened about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Arundel Road.
Emergency personnel said a full-sized SUV driven by a 66-year-old man hit the house; he was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Paramedics treated him and took him to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious but not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
The fire department Special Operations Collapse Rescue Team helped remove the SUV from the house, and a building inspector came to the scene to check the structural stability of the home. There were no other injuries.

Officer Marc Limansky, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, said Wednesday that no charges have been filed against the driver, identified as Harvy Burroughs Jr., 65, of Pasadena.
The cause of the accident was driver inattention, with impairment as a contributing factor, he said. "Alcohol, impairment appears to be a factor," Limansky said, adding that the police are awaiting the results of lab tests to determine whether Burroughs will be charged.
The collision occurred when Burroughs drove his 2003 GMC Envoy SUV through a stop sign on Creek Road at Arundel Road, Limansky said. He drove up the lawn and into the house on Arundel Road.
