Suzanne Lee Csorba, 80, passed away on May 3, 2015, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Sue was born Suzanne Karstens in Davenport, IA, in 1934. She met Julius “Joe” Csorba at the University of Maryland and they married in 1957. Girl Scouting was a natural fit for a mother of four girls. However, her 25 years as a leader was extraordinary in that she touched the lives of hundreds of girls, giving them courage and confidence in themselves.

Sue worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Edgewater for several years, and would often check in on patrons along her route. She always thought of others, offering to help people learn guitar or occasionally inviting a homeless person over for Thanksgiving. In retirement, she started a folk group and brought sunshine to residents at nursing facilities. Even as a nursing home resident herself, she was one of the most caring people you ever met. She loved and was well-loved, and will be sorely missed.

Sue is survived by her four children: Amy Csorba of Durham, NC, Patricia Hammar of Cape St Claire, MD, Sue Mollner of Minneapolis, MN, and Margaret Jordan of Colorado Springs, CO, and foster son John Csorba of Norfolk, VA, brother Richard Karstens, grandchildren Jessie, Russell and Matthew Schmitz, Andrea MacCallum, Amanda Sen, Rebekah Wunderlich, Matthew and Julia Jordan, and 6 great-grandaughters.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on May 11 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater.
