Three Edgewater Residents Charged in Dozens of Car Break-Ins

Anne Arundel County Police say the three suspects stole from unlocked vehicles in late June.

Three Edgewater residents are charged with dozens of criminal complaints for allegedly stealing from numerous unlocked vehicles in the community.

The string of car break-ins was reported between June 25 and June 29, including 11 thefts in the South River Colony Crossing Community during the overnight hours.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department says victims reported loose change, gift cards, credit cards and sunglasses were taken. All of the vehicles that were entered were left unlocked by the owners.

Police say they linked Steven Moreland to several of the thefts; he was arrested July 6 and charged with 37 theft-related offenses.

The next day, police connected Gregory Kerr and Allison King to the thefts in the South River Colony Crossing Community. Authorities say evidence suggests the suspects have committed these types of crimes before in the area. Both Kerr and King were each charged with 24 various theft-related offenses.

The suspects are:

  • Steven Charles Moreland, 22, of 122 Washington Road in Edgewater
  • Gregory Joseph Kerr, 25, of 3268 Rolling Road in Edgewater
  • Allison Kathleen King, 24, of 410 Silver Run Road in Edgewater
