ICYMI: Tickets on Sale for Empty Bowls Fundraiser
South River High School in Edgewater will hold the hunger-fighting event on Nov. 19.

Tickets are on sale now for the third annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at South River High School in Edgewater.
Those attending may sample soups from 11 restaurants and take home an artisan made empty ceramic bowl, which symbolizes hunger in the community, organizers say.
The fundraiser brought in $4,500 and $6,000, respectively, in its first two years and drew more than 325 diners last year. This has become the school’s biggest fundraiser for the Harvest for the Hungry campaign and South River has been the top donor in the state for the past five years, says faculty member Wesley Baker.
