Traffic Alert: Officer's Burial in Davidsonville to Close Road

Burial for Officer Brennan Rabain, a Prince George's County Police officer who died in a car crash, will tie up traffic Thursday.

Drivers should expect delays and some road closures Thursday afternoon in the Davidsonville area because of the funeral procession of a Prince George’s County Police officer.

The interment following the funeral for Prince George’s County Police Officer Brennan Rabain will be held at Lakemount Memorial Gardens, 900 West Central Ave. in Davidsonville.

Rabain died Saturday morning when a speeding car flew past his cruiser, prompting the officer to pursue, and fatally crash. Authorities say Rabain, 26, crashed into a wooden fence in the 9500 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham.

Anne Arundel County Police will provide traffic control along the route to help drivers with alternate routes. Traffic will likely be affected between noon and 3 p.m. Thursday.

Expect Route 214 to be closed between Patuxent River Road and Route 424. Local traffic will be allowed access and detours will be in place.
