Vandals Strike Gingerville Homes Early Thursday Morning
Anne Arundel County police said the destruction of mailboxes, Christmas lights and neighborhood entrance sign happened Thursday.

The Gingerville neighborhood was the site of damage and destruction of mailboxes and Christmas lighting early Thursday, police confirmed. Edgewater Patch received an anonymous tip from a Gingerville resident later that day.
In all, the vandals hit six homes.
The tipster said that around 3 a.m. neighbors awoke after hearing noises outside. When they went outside to check, they saw the destruction and called police.

Anne Arundel County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy confirmed the destruction and said police are conducting periodic checks on the community and that no incidents were reported overnight into Friday.
The neighborhood entrance sign in Gingerville was also tampered with, the letters rearranged to spell a racially-inflammatory word. The tipster said the letters were later removed by a community member and the sign will be repaired by the homeowners association.
