What's Open, Closed in Anne Arundel County for Thanksgiving 2016

Anne Arundel County government offices and services will be closed on Thanksgiving. Area malls will be open, hours vary.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Anne Arundel County government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and remain closed on Friday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

There will be no curbside garbage collection on Thursday, says the county. All Thursday collections will be done on Friday.

Government offices
It's a federal holiday, so federal, state and county government offices will be closed.

Schools
All Anne Arundel County Public Schools are closed Nov. 23-25.

Post offices
The day is a holiday for postal workers, so there is no mail delivery and your local post office is closed.

Banks

Banks are closed for Thanksgiving.

Annapolis Offices, Closures

City of Annapolis government offices will also be closed on Thursday and Friday. Anyone wishing to make a payment at City Hall during the holiday should use the drop box at the front door of City Hall. No cash payments should be left there.

There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day in Annapolis. Thursday’s collection will occur on Friday, Nov. 25, and Friday’s collection will occur on Saturday, Nov. 26.

The Pip Moyer Recreation Center and Annapolis Transit will both be closed on Thanksgiving, but open and operating on a regular schedule on Friday, Nov. 25.
