William C Thompson Jr., 78, of Edgewater, MD was born on June 30, 1936 and entered eternal life on June 10, 2015 after a long battle with COPD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thompson and Lillian Kephart Thompson, of Edgewater, MD and nephews, William Lanham and Kenneth Lanham of Severn, MD.

He is survived by one sister, Helen Thompson Lanham of Odenton, MD; four nephews, James (Rhonda) Lanham and their children, Alan, Tricia, Kristy, Stacey and Erin, Kenneth Lanham and his son, Shawn Lanham, Daniel (Mary) Lanham and their children, Jacqueline Kelley and Brian Lanham and Trevor Lanham and one niece, Crystal Lanham. He is also survived by many other extended family and friends, his loving companion, Patricia Wood of Edgewater, MD; her children Angela (Scott) Hinson and their children, Heather, Tommy and Melissa (Ian) Webster and their children Emery and Karoline.
He worked at the Washington Star and Washington Post Newspapers as a production machinist, from where he retired from in 1998. Bill enjoyed life at his home in Ponder Cove fishing and boating on “Lucky Lady,” family crab feasts and cookouts. He was a faithful “Redskin” fan and enjoyed attending the games with his nephews. Bill was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Edgewater and Moose Club in Annapolis.

Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, on Sunday, June 14 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
