Woman Critically Injured In Lothian Car Accident

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a car accident just two hours before a second accident occurred at the same site.

LOTHIAN, MD – A 29-year-old female passenger suffered critical injuries in a vehicular accident June 1 that occurred in the northbound lane of Route 4 in the area of Talbot Road. She was flown by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

The 33-year-old male driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken by paramedics to the Trauma Center at UM Prince George’s Hospital Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Witnesses reported that the victims’ vehicle rolled five times and trapped the passenger who was extricated by firefighters with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Less than two hours later, firefighters were dispatched back to the same area for another vehicle accident with trapped occupants. This time the accident was southbound on Route 4 in the area of Talbot Road. Firefighters located a two-vehicle accident involving a sedan and a pick-up truck. Four patients were taken to CalvertHealth Medical Center with minor injuries.
