Workshop with Tai Chi Master, C.P. Ong

Event will be held on May 9.

What is this mysterious power of (Nei Jin), or Inner Strength, and how does one cultivate it?

In Gong Fu and TaiJi one often sees almost magical displays of effortless power - a slightly built older person effortlessly tosses a muscular young person across the room. Is this some physics-defying special power available only through mystical practices? Quite the contrary. It is a power rooted in physics and an understanding of how the body works.

Join us as C.P. Ong, author of *TaiJiQuan: Cultivating Inner Strength*, shows us how we can develop our own inner strength. He will lead us through the moving practice of ChanSi Gong (silk reeling exercises) and through stationary meditation and breathing practice.

Master Ong is an official 12th generation lineage holder of Chen Style TaiJiQuan under Chen Zhenglei and Chen Xiao Wang and has also trained extensively with Zhu TianCai. He played a large part in helping to introduce them to the USA and has worked dilligently to promote Chen Style TaJiQuan.

His years spent translating for the grandmasters has made him very good at making the language and concepts of taiji accessible to Westerners. This comes across in his book which is easy to read and clearly presents even the most complex concepts. Often analogies to sports more familiar to Westerners are used to explain concepts and photos are used generously.

Master Ong's book builds the foundation and understanding of the principles that will improve all your forms and applications. Along the way, you will learn about the history of taiji both in China and in the US and read interesting stories from the history of the Chen family.

Any student of taiji would benefit from reading this book, but it is a "must-have" book for students of Chen family taiji!

The value of the workshop and book is $85. As part of our continued celebration of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, and in an effort to promote tai chi, we are offering a special rate for Master Ong's workshop & book. See our web site for details.
