1 Rescued from Trash Truck Crash Near Carroll-Baltimore Line

Baltimore County public safety officials said an SUV was lodged under a trash truck.

A helicopter was called to transport a crash victim on Westminster Pike outside Reisterstown Wednesday afternoon near the Carroll County line after a collision between an SUV and a trash truck, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.

The crash in the 1100 block of Westminster Pike was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Fire crews found one person trapped in the SUV, which had been lodged under the trash truck, officials said.

By 2:30 p.m., authorities said the SUV had been removed from under the trash truck and the person had been rescued.

Westminster Pike was closed in the area of the crash, with the exception of one lane where travel was getting by in alternating fashion, until approximately 3 p.m., when one lane was opened in each direction, according to public safety officials.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area after 3 p.m., officials said.
