The Festival of Wreaths is a holiday wonderland of creativity and generosity featuring a display of extraordinary wreaths that range from whimsical, to wacky, to wonderful. In the past, wreaths have been adorned with a wide range of items and decorations including semi-precious gems, sock monkeys, computer mice, thumb tacks, eyeglasses, duct tape, Legos®, flip flops, painted crab shells, used auto parts, origami, wine corks, autographed sports memorabilia, duct tape, and even toilet paper rolls! They make great gifts or memorable seasonal décor for your home. Many also come with special items like gift cards, specialty food and beverage, merchandise, or tickets to local and regional attractions.

This festive fundraiser benefits the Arts Council and their mission to provide a variety of arts opportunities in Carroll County. The event was first converted into an online auction last year due to COVID-19, ensuring that whether or not people visited the in-person festival, they could still view and bid on the wreaths. This year, the event will continue its in-person display/online auction format, though for different reasons. “It was out of necessity last year that we moved all the bidding online, but we realized afterwards that it ultimately made the auction logistics run more efficiently.” says CCAC’s Community Engagement Coordinator, JoAnna Crone, “The heart of this festival though is still the joyful live display of these holiday handicrafts.”
