Youth arts education is essential to child development, which is why the Arts Council has focused their Giving Tuesday campaign on bolstering their existing youth arts opportunities and supporting their future arts education goals. Currently, the CCAC serves over 100 local students every year through visual and performing arts classes, summer camps, and children’s theatre productions at the Carroll Arts Center. Building upon their current offerings, the Arts Council plans in the next year to collaborate directly with Carroll County schools to bring quality arts programming directly to students, both onstage and in the classroom. By bringing programs like touring children’s shows, artists-in-residence, and drama workshops right to the schools, more students at all levels will have free early arts experiences that enrich, educate, and inspire them. The 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign will lay the foundation for this ambitious vision.
Up to $2,500 in Giving Tuesday donations will be matched by local State Farm agent, Bruce Culver. “I’m honored to be a part of the CCAC’s 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign,” says Culver, “My family and I have been enjoying events at the Arts Center since its opening in 2003 and long before that. In fact, my first job was an usher at the old Carroll Theater, so I have always felt a special connection to the building.” If the CCAC can reach their $2,500 goal by November 30, they will have $5,000 raised to put towards vital youth arts education programs.
