Carroll County Chamber Of Commerce : Community Media Center To Hold Mayoral Candidates Forum For Mt. Airy Special Election

The Community Media Center (CMC) will hold a public forum for candidates running for the office of Mayor in the Mt. Airy Special Election. The forum will be held at the Mt. Airy Town Hall located at 110 S. Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD on Thursday October 14, 2021 starting at 7:00 PM.

The following candidates are running for the office of mayor and will participate in the forum: Larry Hushour, former Mt. Airy councilmember and Pamela Reed, current Mt. Airy councilmember.

 

Bob Blubaugh, managing editor-digital content, Community Media Center, will serve as the moderator for the event. The event will be open to the public, but seating will be limited. Residents are encouraged to submit their questions prior to the forum by emailing them to elections@carrollmediacenter.org. The forum will also be streamed live on cable channels HD-1086 and channel 19, on the Community Media Center website at www.carrollmediacenter.org and on Facebook and Youtube.

Richard Turner, executive director of the Community Media Center said, “The CMC is dedicated to providing local programming on local issues. Among our highest priorities is an informed electorate and ensuring our residents know more about the issues and the candidates running for office.”

 

The Mt. Airy Mayoral Candidates Forum will be recorded for rebroadcast. The first rebroadcasts will be on cable channel 19 on Friday, October 15th at 7:00 PM and on channel HD-1086 at 9:30 PM. In addition to the candidates forum, the Community Media Center is creating a special Mt. Airy election page on the CMC website at www.carrollmediacenter.org. The page will include voter registration deadlines, election day information, video profiles from the candidates running for office and candidate forum video.

 

The Community Media Center is conducting this forum as a public service for the residents of Carroll County and does not endorse any political candidate or political organization.
