Carroll County Chamber Of Commerce : McFadden Receives Maryland Pupil Personnel Worker Of The Year Award

The staff and leadership of the Student Services Department is
excited and honored to announce that a member of its staff has received an
award from the Maryland Association of Pupil Personnel.

Susan McFadden, a veteran Pupil Personnel Worker, received the
Pupil Personnel Worker of the Year Award at the annual Maryland Association of
Pupil Personnel conference on Friday, May 7, 2021.  This award recognizes
an individual who demonstrates an outstanding skill set and leadership in the
role as a pupil personnel worker, including an authentic and dedicated approach
to the delivery of services. The recipient also must demonstrate ongoing
interest in professional growth and a significant contribution to students and
families, schools, and the community.

McFadden works with students at South Carroll High School, Mt. Airy Middle, Mt. Airy Elementary, Parr’s Ridge Elementary, and Winfield Elementary. She provides support to students and families in the schools and collaborates with community agencies to meet student needs. She is seen as a worker who is a problem solver, collaborator, and advocate for the students and families she serves. 

According to Christina Dougherty, principal at South Carroll High School, “Ms. McFadden works very hard on behalf of students and families. She advocates for student success and is very flexible and accommodating with students. She is well deserving of recognition!”
