Carroll County Declares Weather Emergency

Snow emergency is in effect on Saturday, Feb. 21.

On Saturday morning, Carroll County officially activated its snow emergency plan.

During a snow emergency, vehicles may not park in areas designated as snow routes.

There is a winter storm warning in effect for Carroll County until 9 a.m. Sunday calling for several inches of snow and possibly some ice.

Other counties that had declared snow emergencies as of 10:30 a.m. included Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, Howard, Montgomery and Washington, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.

The Maryland State Highway Administration is urging people to delay their travels on Saturday due to deteriorating conditions.
