Carroll County Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch

National Weather Service issued alert for much of Baltimore-Washington area, including Carroll County.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight for Carroll County.

Here is a statement from the weather service:

TONIGHT A SEVERE WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL VIRGINIA AS WELL AS CENTRAL MARYLAND. SEVERE THREATS ARE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL. THUNDERSTORMS MAY ALSO PRODUCE LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of the state, including Carroll County, which expired at 8 p.m. on Monday.

A tornado watch means severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties were included in the watch area. Baltimore City, the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia were also under the watch.
