Eldersburg, Carroll County Snow Totals for March 20

The National Weather Service provides preliminary reports on accumulations.

Winter is having its last hurrah until spring officially starts at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, March 20.

A rain-snow mix hit Eldersburg during the morning rush hour, and Carroll County was under a winter weather advisory until 2 p.m.

Here are preliminary snow totals for Carroll County on Friday from the National Weather Service:

  • 3.3 inches in southeast Westminster; reported at 10:33 a.m.
  • 3 inches in northeast Uniontown; reported at 11 a.m.
  • 3 inches in Manchester; reported at 10:45 a.m.
  • 3 inches in southwest Lineboro; reported at 12:28 p.m.
  • 2.5 inches in Mount Airy; reported at 9:18 a.m.
  • 2.4 inches in southeast Eldersburg; reported at 11:30 a.m.
  • 2 inches in Westminster; reported at 9:27 a.m.
  • 2 inches in Eldersburg; reported at 9:30 a.m.
  • 1.6 inches in northwest Gaither; reported at 8 a.m.

The most snow reported so far is in Allegany County, where Frostburg had 6 inches at approximately 11:30 a.m.; and Washington County, where Cascade had 6 inches at 2 p.m.

On Friday, Allegany County Public Schools were closed. Schools in Carroll County and Baltimore County’s Hereford Zone opened on a two-hour delay Friday.
