Eldersburg Church Holds First 'Blessing of the Motorcycles'

The event is open to all area motorcycle owners.

You may have heard of a "blessing of the pets" at area churches, or maybe a "blessing of the backpacks," but one local church is going a step further with a first annual "blessing of the motorcycles."Β

in Eldersburg is holding a special event at noon on April 22, and is inviting local motorcycle riders to consider attending for a blessing for safe riding this spring.Β

"Each year, at the start of spring, you can hear and see the numerous motorcycles and riders stretching their legs. It’s almost like a 'rite of spring' along with the new buds and flowers," said Wesley outreach chairman Joe Cathey.Β "Perhaps, this is a way to have God watch over the riders."
