Eldersburg Safeway Catches Fire
Blaze began outside Eldersburg grocery store and spread, officials said.

ELDERSBURG, MD – Blazing dumpsters temporarily closed the Eldersburg Safeway, according to reports.
After 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the Sykesville Fire Department responded to the supermarket in the 1300 block of Londontowne Boulevard, where smoke was reported behind Safeway, according to the fire department.
Two dumpsters had caught fire, and the store was evacuated, officials said. The fire had spread into the store, according to the Sykesville Fire Department.

Crews from Sykesville, Gamber and Winfield brought the blaze under control shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to The Baltimore Sun.
While there was no damage inside the store, fire officials said there was heavy smoke in the storage area, and Safeway was closed until further notice.

There were no injuries from the fire, the cause of which was under investigation, officials reported.
