MAGGIE SANSONE, Hammered dulcimer – One of America’s premier hammered dulcimer players and recording artists, Maggie has been featured on CBS-TV Sunday Morning, and NPR’s All Things Considered, Performance Today, XM Radio and Echoes Soundscapes. Her 12th recording Wind Drift: Celtic Grooves, mystic moods was released in September, 2010 and was featured twice on NPR’s The Thistle & Shamrock. Host Fiona Ritchie said “Maggie’s music has been at the heart of a musical movement that explores American roots and Celtic soul in a great variety of authentic acoustic delight.” Among many awards, Maggie received Wammie awards from the Washington Area Music Association for Celtic/Irish Instrumentalist and Record Label of the Year. SHARON KNOWLES, Celtic harp – From Scotland Sharon Knowles emigrated to the US in 1997 and quickly became a sought after teacher and a popular performer, performing at The Smithsonian Institute, Library of Congress and the Irish Embassy with harper Sue Richards and her Scottish band, Fynesound. Sharon continues to perform in Scotland, as well as Europe, Scandinavia and Western Australia. (www.fynesound.com/harper.htm)
SHANNON DUNNE, vocals, concertina, bodhrán & foot percussion – Shannon Dunne performs Sean-nos (Old Style) Irish Dancing and tours nationally with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble. Shannon has performed and taught at festivals all over the East Coast, Midwest, and in Ireland. She is a 2008 Dance Fellow and a five time recipient of a Folk Arts Grant from the DCCAH and the NEA, and was a recipient of a performer grant from the UWM Department of Irish Studies.
