New vaccines are needed for kids entering kindergarten and seventh grade for the 2014-2015 school year. The Carroll County Health Department is holding three free clinics for providing these new vaccines. Children entering kindergarten are required to receive a second dose of the Varicella vaccine (chicken pox) and entering seventh graders are required to receive one MCV4 (meningococcal) vaccine for meningitis as well as one Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis {whooping cough}).
