ICYMI: Sobriety Checkpoint Planned in Carroll County
Officers are looking for drunk and drugged drivers in Carroll County this weekend.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are coming together for a sobriety checkpoint this weekend in Carroll County to take drivers impaired by drugs and alcohol off the roads, according to a statement from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers from Maryland State Police, the Westminster Police Department, Hampstead Police Department, Sykesville Police Department and Taneytown Police Department will staff the checkpoint at an undisclosed location on Saturday, Aug. 8, the statement said.
The checkpoint will be marked with lights, signs and officers in uniform, according to the statement.

The initiative is part of the Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign, funded in part by a grant from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration’s Highway Safety Office, the sheriff’s office reports.
