Integrace Fairhaven and Bayleigh Chase Communities Named “U.S. News Best Nursing Homes” by U.S. News & World Report

Sykesville and Easton-based communities are two of 36 in Maryland to earn "Best" designation

Integrace, a forward-thinking non-profit organization that strives to ignite in all people the passion for meaningful living, announced that two of its communities – Fairhaven in Sykesville, Md. and Bayleigh Chase in Easton, Md., were recently named “U.S. News Best Nursing Homes” by U.S. News & World Report. The Integrace communities are two of 2,000 communities to earn the designation nationwide, and two of just 36 in Maryland.

The announcement was made as U.S. News & World Report released its new Nursing Home Finder tool (http://health.usnews.com/best-nursing-homes), which offers comprehensive information about care, safety, health inspections, staffing and more for nearly every nursing home in the country. To create the resource, U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 homes nationwide, across each state in 100 major metropolitan areas.

Since its inception in 2009, the U.S. News nursing home ratings have relied on data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. This year, U.S. news updated its methodology to ensure that the designation of Best Nursing Home is given only to those homes that demonstrate appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in national quality measures. To qualify as a Best Nursing Home this year, facilities had to earn an average of 4.5 stars or better during the 12 months of federal reports ending in October 2016 and had to consistently meet certain performance standards set by U.S. News during the period. More detailed information about U.S. News’s updated methodology is available at: http://static.usnews.com/documents/health/nursing-homes/BNH_2016-17_Methodology.pdf.
