Local Young Soccer Team Tops the Competition Saturday

The South Carroll Soccer Club's under 10 United boys team finished first place Saturday in the end-of-season tournament for the Frederick County Youth Soccer League. 

"During the tournament, we scored every way possible: off of corners, headers, far post, near post, 'nutmegs,' our own defensive side, you name it we did it," said Coach Brian Grasso.

"You always want to go into the end of the season playing your best game, and we did. We dominated," said Grasso.

United finished the tournament with a 5-0-0 record, beating teams from Wolfsville/Myersville (4-0), Mount Airy (4-0), Ballenger Creek (5-0), Potomac Valley (3-1), and Carroll Manor (3-0). They finished the regular season with a 6-0-1 record scoring a total of 33 goals, giving up only two over the season.
