Slow Down Pardner & Enjoy This FREE, Fun-Filled Christmas Hoedown In Sykesville

A Merry Christmas In South Branch Park” brings family fun and excitement to the town of Sykesville on Saturday, December 6. “A Merry Christmas In South Branch Park” is a FREE Christmas hoedown located at the recently renovated South Branch Park in Sykesville, MD for everyone to enjoy from 12:00 to 4:00pm. The event features two performances of the 20-minute puppet musical Christmas on Red Rock Ridge--a musical that serves up plenty of country flavor with a Christmas message for all ages.

To stir up the Christmas Spirit in everyone FREE pony rides, a petting zoo, moon bounce, games, face painting, Christmas Caroling, hot chocolate, hot dogs, Christmas treats and gift card drawings to Baldwin’s, Beck’s, Grilled cheese & Company and Toys R Us and MORE will be a part of the festivities. “A Merry Christmas In South Branch Park” provides everyone an opportunity to slow down and saddle up with their neighbors for a fun-filled day and to mosey on over to the many fine, local businesses in downtown Sykesville. While at the park children will want to experience and enjoy the new playground that features a railroad theme. The Town of Sykesville will provide additional activities for children from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Town House located on Main Street.

This is Friendship Baptist Church’s second Christmas event and fourth LoveLoud event that supports the Town of Sykesville and surrounding communities. ”Through our LoveLoud initiative Friendship Church is focused on blessing the community by building partnerships with local businesses, government agencies and community members. The objective of LoveLoud is to give back and to serve, in tangible ways, the people who make this community such a wonderful are to work, live and raise a family.” The other  events to date include Countdown to Easter at Cooper Park--featuring a classic car show--in April and Corn Hole Chaos--Corn Hole Tournament in Cooper Park this past October. In addition to the events at Cooper Park, the church also replaced the roof of one of the parks pavilions and installed more than 52 yards of safety mulch in the two playgrounds at the park. Friendship Baptist Church also provided free Chik-Fil-A lunches to the 500 teachers and support staff at the five Eldersburg area elementary schools during February to express their appreciation for the hard work and dedication that the schools staff demonstrate to the children that live in our community.
