Million Dollar Club Becomes Reality for Local Business Woman

Beth Woodring was inducted into the Maryland SBDC Million Dollar Club.

Carroll County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Senior Counselor Beth A. Woodring was inducted into the Maryland SBDC Million Dollar Club at the statewide conference, according to an SBDC news release.

Woodring was recognized for facilitating over $2.7 million dollars in small business loan assistance for six Carroll County firms in 2010 and for her overall dedication in serving small businesses, according to the news release.

“Access to capital is a primary business concern and Ms. Woodring is an excellent professional business counselor with expertise in business finance,” said Larry Twele, director of the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. “This expertise clearly has helped many small business clients and has bolstered our Carroll County small business development efforts.”

Woodring told Patch that she has been working at the Carroll County SBDC for just shy of six years.

"Working with small business owners is very rewarding and I truly admire the tenacity, courage and determination of my clients," Woodring said.  "My role is to listen to my clients and guide them to achieve the goals they set, not to tell them what to do."

Woodring said that building relationships with clients is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.

"My induction into the SBDC Million Dollar Club achieves a professional goal I created for myself and worked towards," Woodring said. "Certainly this comes to me as a direct result of the work of my client base here in Carroll County."
