New Sykesville Fire Engine Undergoes Production

The newest addition to the station is on its way.

The  new fire engine is in production and the local fire station recently shared pictures of the volunteer department's newest addition.

Shown above are pictures of the cab of the engine. The new fire engine to replace a E-One fire engine from 1989, according to their website.

The new apparatus will be powered by a Detroit 500 HP DD13 engine and will have a 1,000 gallon New York style poly tank with a low hosebed and crosslays, according to the post by Deputy Fire Chief Brett Pearce.

The fire engine will also have a stainless steel body, frontal air bags, side roll protection, hands-free SCBA Brackets, LED scene and emegency lighting and Pierce custom graphics.
