Dump Truck-Sedan Crash Sends 2 to Hospital: Police

A crash in Lisbon trapped one individual, Howard County fire and rescue personnel report.

A section of Woodbine Road was closed for two and a half hours Tuesday afternoon due to a crash between a passenger car and a dump truck, according to officials.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported one person was trapped after a collision on Woodbine at Frederick Roads.

Within 15 minutes, first responders freed the individual, who was in stable condition, the department reported.

The preliminary investigation indicates a Chevy Cobalt headed south on Woodbine Road crossed the double yellow line and hit a Mack CL713 truck that was going north, according to the Howard County Police Department.

The driver of the Cobalt—Marcos Henrique De Lacerda, 32, of Ellicott City—was taken the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in serious condition, police reported. He was the one who was entrapped, according to Lori Boone, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department.

The driver of the dump truck—Glenn Scott Beck, 56, of Frederick—was in stable condition at Howard County General Hospital, according to police.

Woodbine Road was closed between Frederick Road/MD 144 and the entrance to I-70 for approximately two and a half hours, the Howard County Police Department reported.

It reopened at approximately 3:45 p.m., police said.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that authorities were still investigating the crash.
