Police: Two Charged in Carroll County Homicide

There is a $2,000 reward for information about weekend murder off Route 32.

Two Baltimore County residents have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a New York man found shot in the middle of MD Route 32 Saturday night in Carroll County, police said.

Lester A. Snyder, 26, and Meghan R. Goforth, 26, who live together in Windsor Mill, are charged with murder, robbery and other charges, police said.

Someone called 911 just before 11 p.m. on Saturday to report that a a body was in the middle of Route 32 at Nicodemus Road, according to police.

Luis J. Pol, 23, of the Bronx, NY, had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported.

Pol had been staying with friends in the Gamber area, according to the report.

The suspects and the victim were acquaintances, and detectives think that robbery was the motive behind the crime, police said, based on preliminary investigation.

Baltimore County police arrested Goforth overnight after finding that her vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle witnessed at the murder scene, according to Maryland State Police.

Snyder was taken into custody at his home, where police served a search warrant just after 1 p.m. on Sunday, according to the report from authorities.

A weapon has not been recovered, the report said.

Both Goforth and Snyder were charged with felony murder, second-degree murder, armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and accessory after the fact, police said.

In addition, Snyder was charged with first-degree murder, police said.

Anyone with information about the person(s) responsible for the murder may contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information.

Police are also interested in speaking with drivers who traveled along Route 32 in the area of Nicodemus Road between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday; contact Maryland State Police at 410-386-3000.
