Post Office Clerk Honored at Fairhaven

"I REMEMBER THAT” has been a huge success due to the creative energies of Kathy Gambrill, a clerk at the Old Main Line Visitor Center and Post Office in Sykesville.

The informal social program was started three years ago by Kathy for participants to visit places of historical significance in Sykesville, learn the history and then share their own recollections and memories.

The group meets the second Wednesday of the month, September through May and is open to everyone.

“I REMEMBER THAT” brings 30 to 50 residents and guests to Sykesville each month, and often includes guest speakers and incorporates visits to new businesses and restaurants. As a Town employee, Kathy has facilitated the preservation of Sykesville’s history and provided an avenue for senior citizens to gather and renew friendships.

Sykesville’s Town Manager, Matt Candland, presented an award plaque to Kathy at the April “I REMEMBER THAT” gathering held at the . “Thanks for the walk in the past through “I Remember That” was the printed appreciation and celebration of Kathy’s successful program.
