TACTICC First in Carroll County to Tackle 'Hairspray' Musical

Eldersburg-based performing arts organization The Arts Coming Together in Carroll County, TACTICC, is celebrating its fifth anniversary in a big way. 

The group will become the first in Carroll County to perform the musical "Hairspray" this summer, with auditions being held next week at Project C Studios in Westminster. 

"This is going to be a large cast that is multicultural and we'd like to pull in people of all ages from all over the county," said Tony Cimino, founder and education director at TACTICC. 

"Our Spotlighter Productions typically feature a live orchestra, incredible designs and intense choreography," Cimino said. "This year is sure to be a blast." 

Audtition Dates: 

• Sunday, March 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday, March 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Callbacks: 

• Friday, March 30 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Prepare: 

• 16 Bars of Music with accompaniment
• 1 Minute Monologue
• Bring Movement Clothes

Available Roles

All roles are open to audition. Those auditioning must be 14 years or older, with the exception of Little Inez, who should be 10 and up. Auditionees should be prepared to sing from the show or in the style of the show.

TACTICC is also seeking several adult roles. Those auditioning will also be asked to perform a brief dance combination that will be taught at the audition. Those auditioning are asked to supply accompaniment for 16 bars of music. Rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays beginning May 17. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal.
