Threat at South Carroll High Put School on Lockdown: Sheriff

Carroll County Sheriff's Office investigated threatening phone calls Wednesday afternoon.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office temporarily put South Carroll High School on lockdown Wednesday due to a threat, officials said.

At 2:27 p.m., deputies responded to the school at 1300 West Old Liberty Road in Sykesville after school office workers reported receiving phone calls indicating a threat, according to the sheriff’s office.

After locking down the school as a precaution, deputies determined there was no threat, and school was dismissed at 3:21 p.m., the sheriff’s office reported.
