Two Women Shot Inside Church Office

Howard County police were investigating the shooting Thursday evening of two women inside the office of a church in Ellicott City. One of the women has been declared dead.

Police responded to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 3695 Rogers Ave., Ellicott City, around 5:20 p.m. when a church custodian called 911 to report that he discovered two women who appeared to have been shot.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was transported to Shock Trauma in critical condition.

Their identities have not been confirmed.

The building has been cleared by police.
