WEATHER ALERT: Eldersburg to Feel Like 10 Below

A wind chill advisory is in effect for Eldersburg from 7 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chills may cause it to feel like 10 degrees below freezing, according to the advisory.

A wind chill advisory means strong winds and cold temperatures have the potential to cause hypothermia and frostbite, the advisory states.

People should take precautions like wearing a hat and gloves outside.

Temperatures will be in the single digits and teens overnight, the weather service advised.

Wind gusts will be between 15 to 25 mph and may get up to 40 mph, according to the weather service.

In addition to Carroll, counties under the advisory include northern Baltimore, northwest Harford and Frederick, the weather service reports.
