Cincinnati Reds Outfielder Joins Firm’s Client Roster of Baseball Professionals

Baltimore, Md. (December 15, 2014) – Winpoint (formerly known as Geier Financial Management), one of the industry’s leading financial management firms designed to meet the unique needs of professional baseball players, announced today the addition of Cincinnati Reds outfielder Kyle Waldrop to its roster of clients consisting of more than 45 retired and 20 active baseball professionals. Waldrop will join a long line of notable professional baseball player clients at Winpoint such as Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, Mark Teixeira, David Robertson, Willie Randolph, Ken Singleton, Dennis Martinez, and 2013 1st round selection, Colin Moran.

Waldrop, 23, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 12th round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Riverdale High School in Fort Myers, Florida, officially kicking off his professional baseball career. For the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons, Waldrop served as an outfielder for Cincinnati Reds’ affiliates, including Billings Mustangs (Advanced Rookie), Dayton Dragons (Single-A), and Bakersfield Blaze (High-A). The left-handed hitter had a breakout year in 2014, hitting a combined .338/.385/.516 in stints at Bakersfield and with the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Waldrop also played first base in the 2014 Arizona Fall League, competing with some of the Red’s top prospects, and hit .300 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 80 at-bats. Recently, Waldrop’s contract was picked up by the Cincinnati Reds, officially making him an active member of the organization’s 40-man roster.

During this year’s FOX Sports Ohio Redsfest, Waldrop was also named ‘Hitter of the Year’ by the local chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) and the Cincinnati Reds for his individual performance of 131g, .338, 37 2b, 14hr, 67rbi, 14sb at Pensacola/Bakersfield during the 2014 season.
