After 50-Foot Fall in Elkridge, Construction Worker Has Minor Injuries

The 29-year-old man fell from scaffolding on Levering Avenue.

A Virginia man suffered minor injuries after falling 50 feet from scaffolding while working near the Interstate 895 overpass in Elkridge, said police.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Howard County emergency personnel responded to the industrial accident on the 5400 block of Levering Avenue, said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for Howard County police.

The 29-year-old man who fell was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is being treated for minor injuries, said Schroen.

Levering Avenue was blocked off as police handled the accident scene.

Police said that the Maryland Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating.
