• Howard County mother wants her children back on bus route to avoid busy intersection (cbsnews.com) — An Elkridge mother is pushing to restore bus service for her children and neighbors to Bellows Spring Elementary, arguing their assigned walking route crosses a busy, blind-curve intersection at Meadowridge Road and Wesley Lane. After her appeal of the expanded walk zone was denied, she's speaking out to draw attention from school leaders and officials to what families see as a serious safety risk.
   

• Former Lacrosse Player ID'd As Driver Killed In Elkridge Car Crash (patch.com) — An 18-year-old Elkridge resident, Kaio Cypress, has been identified as the driver killed in a Sept. 18 single-vehicle crash on Ilchester Road in Howard County. The former Howard High School varsity lacrosse defenseman was remembered by his team as a passionate competitor whose spirit will remain part of the program, leaving many in the Elkridge and school communities grieving.
