Glen Mar Golf Classic Raises $25,000 for Grassroots

The 2nd Annual Glen Mar Golf Classic raised over $25,000 to support the people served by Grassroots, Howard County’s round-the-clock crisis intervention center and homeless shelter.

The event was organized by Glen Mar United Methodist Church members Libby Boswell, Jeff Carter, John D. Hampshire, Barbara Julian, Sandy Kappert, Don Lee, Jim Lyman and Alison Zusak, with support from Glen Mar Senior Pastor Matt Poole.  A team of volunteers was on-hand the day of the tourney.

The tournament attracted 120 golfers. A silent auction, organized and displayed by Loren Agrusti and Trish Bennett, included hundreds of items from local businesses and individuals. A barbeque lunch was prepared by George and Sally Dohner and Tom Carroll.
