Hope for the Homeless 5K set for May 4

Registration is now open for the Hope for the Homeless 5k trail race set for Saturday, May 4, at Rockburn Park in Elkridge.  The event is a benefit for the Grassroots Day Resource Center, which provides services, meals and limited medical care to people who are chronically homeless.

The 5k trail run features a shady one-loop course with beautiful scenery in the woods on low impact surfaces.  Pets are allowed on the course.  No strollers are permitted on the 5k trail.  Team registrations are available and there will be a special award for the team with the most donations. Trophies will be presented to the top runners and the best in each age group.  The 5k starts at 9 a.m.

The entry fee for the 5k is $20 for those who register by April 15; a t-shirt is included. Late registrants pay $30 and cannot be guaranteed a t-shirt.  Race day registration starts at 8 a.m.
