Howard High Fills Empty Bowls for Grassroots

The National Art Honor Society at Howard High School raised $640 for Grassroots at “Empty Bowls 2013.” Attendees at the fundraiser received a soup and bread dinner and a handmade ceramic bowl.  Soups were made fresh and donated by faculty and parents at Howard.  The ceramic soup bowls were created by Howard High students. All of the proceeds went to Grassroots, Howard County’s only 24-hour crisis center and homeless shelter.

Among the students serving soup were (from l.) Zoe Katz, Jessica Evans, Kelly Doss, and Jessica Scheerer.

Principal Gina Massella was among those enjoying the event.
