Members of Howard High School’s L.E.O. (Leading Each Other) Program braved rainy May weather work alongside residents to pull weeds and prepare flower and garden beds, as well as paint a room at one of Linwood Center’s homes in Ellicott City. The volunteers also potted plants to beautify Linwood’s residence and day program activity space. This is the second year, the L.E.O. students selected Linwood as the beneficiary of their major community service activity. The beautification project was one of many the students undertake during the school year to build school leadership.
“They are an absolutely amazing group of students,” said Leah Krable, Linwood Center Adult Services Director of Programs and Services. “I couldn’t ask for a better group. They are wonderful and I look forward to working with them in the future,” she added.
Participating students included (from l.) Dakota Yi, Al Corvah, Brendan Korando, Michael Anderson, Sara Johns, Jacob Shilling, Matt Miller and Alex Foard. Others that participated were Sydnee Shannon, Shannon Kirby, Autumn Dahlgren, Hailey Messenger, Tomi Jegede, Gabi Margarida, Molly Hart and Jodi Bahrijczuk.
