Grassroots Crisis Intervention is hosting a four-week support and education group for adolescents who have lost a loved one to suicide. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss their thoughts, feelings and experiences related to their loss and develop healthy ways of coping through peer support, education and activities. The group will be facilitated by a licensed social worker and social work intern.
Sessions will be held Mondays, April 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 7-8:30 p.m. Participants are asked to attend all four sessions, which will be held at Grassroots’ offices, 6700 Freetown Rd., Columbia.
The group is free of charge but registration is required and space is limited. For more information or to register, contact Tamara Van Newkirk, 410-531-6677, tamara@grassrootscrisis.org.
