New month, new colors to highlight and love! The colors I'm loving this month are teal and bronze. They are yummy together or used on their own to add a new pop of color to your rooms. Sometimes all a room needs is a few new pillows, a new rug or the addition of a warm, rich metal. And don't forget paint color—a great way to change a room for a small investment.
Teal comes in many values (the lightness or darkness of a color), but I'm really liking the darker values. They are warm and inviting and look wonderful with winter white (cream), black, brown or the warm metal finishes (like bronze!).
Bronze adds a warmth to any room and has a richness that mixes well with both dark and light colors. It "reads" as a medium brown, so use it as you would a warm brown. Anytime you add metal to a room, you are mixing up the finishes and that instantly updates a space.

Tip: Easy way to add bronze to a room—spray-paint an old lamp base with bronze spraypaint. Either update a lamp you own but have grown tired of, or search flea markets for lamps with a great base shape and paint the base for a "new" lamp! This also works on metal chandeliers—spray and add new shades, and you have an instant update.
