3 Charged In Elkridge Library Burglaries: Police

Howard County police said a warrant for a fourth person's arrest has been issued in the library construction site burglaries.

ELKRIDGE, MD — The construction site for the new Elkridge library was burglarized five times recently, and authorities announced on Monday that there have been multiple arrests in connection with the crimes. Police said that the burglary suspects took copper wire and other items from the site in the 6500 block of Washington Boulevard.

The complete rebuild of the Elkridge branch has been a major construction project along Route 1. When complete, the new library will be more than double the size of its predecessor and will more than quintuple the size of the senior center, according to county officials. The new Elkridge library is slated for completion in March 2018.

Just as progress has been clipping along on Washington Boulevard, police said burglars repeatedly struck the construction site.
