Cindy's Soft Serve Closes for Winter

The “Gone Fishing” sign on the 6300 block of Washington Boulevard is almost as telling as the leaves changing color in Elkridge.

Stating that Cindy’s Soft Serve is closed for winter, the sign marks the official end of summer.

Cindy’s closes the first Sunday in October every year.

“Everyone’s pretty heartbroken,” said Tyler Metzger, 18, who was cleaning out the ice cream and snowball stand on Oct. 4 when Patch caught up with him.

Fewer people show up for snowballs as the weather turns cooler, added Metzger, who's been working there for three years.

Cindy’s Soft Serve will reopen the first Sunday in April.
