Collision at Route 1 and Montgomery Sends One to Shock Trauma

After a motorcycle and sedan crashed, police shut down southbound US 1 during rush hour.

One person was taken by ambulance to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after a crash on Washington Boulevard during rush hour on Monday, said police.

At 5:54 p.m., police received a call that there was a collision at the intersection of US 1 and Montgomery Road in Elkridge, said officials; they arrived to find a sedan and motorcycle in the roadway.

Three people declined medical treatment and one was transported to shock trauma, according to police. No further information was available.

As of 6:30 p.m., police had shut down all southbound lanes of Washington Boulevard at Montgomery Road. Traffic was diverted onto Montgomery Road while Lenny's Towing and police cleared the scene.
