There was smoke but no fire at the hotel, said officials.

A report of a Friday morning fire at the Holiday Inn in Jessup was a false alarm, said officials.
"At 9:13 a.m., the call was dispatched, and it was a report of a fire," said Jackie Cutler, spokeswoman for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
She said that crews from Savage, Columbia and Anne Arundel County responded to the fire at the hotel on the 7900 block of Washington Boulevard but found none.
