Solar 101 Workshop

• Description:  Participants learn about the latest government tax incentives and grants, how zero-down Solar Leasing works, solar panel categories and grades, recent legislative updates and more.

Howard County Restaurant Weeks

• Where:  Throughout Howard County
• When:  Daily; now through Jan. 28.
• Description:  Howard County Restaurant Weeks feature a global theme, with participating restaurants offering fixed-price menus ranging from $10.13-$40.13. See the Howard County Restaurant Weeks website for participating restaurants.

 Kids Night Out: Happy Feet

• Where:  The Pottery Stop and Coffee Shop, 9050 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City
• When:  Friday, Jan. 25, 6 p.m.
• Description:  Kids will choose a penguin figurine, bank, or mug from the studio, watch Happy Feet (rated PG), and have a pizza party.

Exhibit Reception: HoCo Open 2013

• Where:  Howard County Center for the Arts, 8510 High Ridge Rd, Ellicott City
• When:  Friday, Jan. 25, 6 p.m.
• Description:   Opening reception for HoCo Open 2013, a biennial, non-juried exhibit featuring local artists. The exhibit runs from Jan. 11 through Feb. 22.

Girlfriend's Weekend Retreat

• Where:  2800 Westchester Ave, Ellicott City
• When:  Friday, Jan. 25, all day
• Description:  Weekend away with the girlfriends includes pampering and relaxation.

Youth Finance (Wi-Fi) Event

• Where:  Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Pky, Columbia
• When: Saturday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m.
• Description:  This free activity is designed for youth ages 12-18 and their parents or guardians.  Participants are invited to partake in a “real life” simulation of financial planning, goal-setting and decision-making experiences.
